The consumer price index (CPI) is the official measure of inflation in South Africa. It is expressed as a percentage. It measures monthly changes in prices for a basket of consumer products bought by the average South African household. The CPI is produced by Statistics South Africa. This dataset starts from January 1975. It is updated monthly.
