Data notes
Stats SA defines an unemployed person as someone aged between 15 and 64 who did not have a job in the reference week of the survey but was available to work and actively looked for work or tried to start a business in the four weeks preceding the survey, or had not actively looked for work in the past four weeks, but had a job or business to start at a definite date in the future and was available. Data is updated quarterly. The chart is based on column N called percent_unemployed.
